My Daily Boop is a small browser toy: a cat lives in a cozy room and, on its own terms, comes close so you can boop it. We try to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what is stored, where, and how to remove it.
If you stay a guest, we collect no personal information. If you sign in to sync across devices, we store the email address you provide, so we can send you a magic sign-in link and attach your cat to your account.
Your cat's name, appearance, temperament, comfort level, boop count, and audio preference are saved in your browser's local storage so your cat remembers you on your next visit. Clearing your browser data removes this. We also store a random, anonymous identifier used only to group analytics events (see below).
If you sign in, the same cat details (name, appearance, temperament, comfort level, and boop totals) are stored in our database, protected so that only you can read or change your own rows.
We do not collect your location. The room's light and time-of-day are read from your browser's clock only.
We use privacy-respecting product analytics (PostHog) to understand simple, aggregate behaviour — for example, how many people load the page, boop for the first time, or return the next day. We do not track cursor movement or sell any data. Analytics events are tied only to the anonymous identifier described above unless you sign in.
Whether sound is muted is stored with your cat and is never shared.
Your cat's comfort level — how much it "remembers" you — is part of your saved cat, on your device and, if you sign in, in your account.
Guests can clear everything by clearing their browser data. Signed-in users can delete all stored cat data at any time via Sync → Delete my data in the app; this permanently removes your cat, comfort level, and boop history and signs you out. To request removal of any remaining account record, email edward.inglefield@gmail.com.

We may update this policy as the product changes. The version number and date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
